Boilerplate revenue crash

Interesting stuff here. This guy found that Marc Lou's ShipFast boilerplate dived in revenue from a height of $125k per month to $2,000. I guess we all know this is from AI making it far easier to get a SaaS up and running.

I know that another founder, Jonathan Wilke, made Outbid.lol precisely because his SupaStarter boilerplate revenue was declining.

It's hard but you have to react to what the market wants.

ShipFast is dead

An interesting article here from Thomas of Uneed about why you shouldn't just make things quickly with little thought. This was written in response to a post from Olly about the challenges of building now.

I'd add my own thought- don't just build for other software developers!

Podscan acquired

Congrats to Arvid for selling his second startup. Podscan is a data service for podcasting which does things like showing you how your brand shows up on pods. Arvid formerly sold FeedbackPanda, an English teacher software company.

Nice to see him sell his second company - see, most founders don't run away to a tropical island and never work again once they sell a business.

Acquisition numbers breakdown

Nice to see this from Venelin.

I hardly ever see a breakdown of numbers like this after an acquisition. It looks like it will take him about 18 more months to make a return on his investment (assuming a steady rate of $20k for every 6 months). Of course, hopefully he will accelerate that payback rate.

Funny post of the week
