Should you share profits with employees?
Olly from Senja (affiliate) sparked an interesting conversation about running profit-share schemes for employees. A few bootstrapped companies have done this like Kit and Buffer. Most of the replies to the post were saying it's too complicated and also leads to disappointment from employees when profits slide and they lose money that they've been used to.
Sentry acquired XcodeBuildMCP
Sentry has bought an open source MCP server for debugging iOS and MacOS apps. The creator of the tool will join Sentry, which is also open source.
Ghost adds welcome emails
If you write your newsletter with Ghost (affiliate), like I do, you can now set up a welcome email. Until now, you had to use an automation like Zapier or Outpost, a SaaS specifically for Ghost publications.
It was one thing that gave me pause for thought when I recently switched High Signal from Kit to Ghost so it's nice that this feature has now arrived! Now I better actually write a welcome email I guess.
A historian vibe-coded a teleprompter
This historian just made his own teleprompter with a couple of prompts in Claude. This guy isn't going to start his own SaaS business but I think we'll see lots of people making tools like this in the next year.
I know some SaaS companies that have used free tools like this for lead-gen so it will be interesting to see what happens if more people keep on vibe-coding their own solutions.
