It looks like Webflow are in trouble. A lot of devs and semi-technical people are now making sites with AI instead of getting locked into a SaaS like Webflow and paying for it every month.

Backlinks debate

A good post here from Ian, who has been doing SEO for a long time. He has criticised a new product Outrank, where you pay to get links from other websites, as it can lead to big penalties from Google.

An over-riding message I've seen from lots of SEOs in the past week - if you can get backlinks easily just by paying, they aren't worth much. Backlinks that you have to earn from great content are far more valuable.

Replit opens London office

Exciting news for vibe coding fans as Replit is going to be opening a London office. I expect there's going to be lots more vibe coding sessions in London now. Paul Graham from YC, who I believe lives in London, is going to be giving a talk.

I'm going to the Uneed residency in France

I'm very excited to be joining some other founders on a week-long residential retreat in France in October! It's going to be great to hunker down and work on projects and meet other entrepreneurs.
